Lactate oxidase is a flavin mononucleotide (FMN)-dependent enzyme that catalyzes the oxidation of lactate to pyruvate and hydrogen peroxide, with FMN as a cofactor. This enzyme facilitates the indirect determination of L‑lactate by measuring the hydrogen peroxide formed in the reaction.
